Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of the Recycling Center! You’ll learn about:
- What we do with the materials you recycle everyday
- The dozens of additional materials collected for recycling in Emmet County ONLY at the Pleasantview Road Drop-off Center (Are you recycling your cooking oil yet?)
- What your recyclables are made into and where
- Anything else you want to ask about: waste reduction, reuse, recycling, composting, and yes, okay, landfills.

Pleasantview Drop-off Center Closed

It feels great to free up storage space while cleaning and “greening” your home: drop off your unwanted oil-based paints, cleaners, automotive fluids, yard & garden chemicals, and much more. It also makes your home safer for you and responders, in case of an emergency.
BY APPOINTMENT ONLY: to prevent traffic jams (and long waits in line!) this event is by appointment. Call 231-348-0640 to make an appointment.
Materials from Emmet County households are accepted free of charge; funding comes from Solid Waste Transfer Station revenues (what is paid to dump garbage). Residents of other counties and qualifying businesses may use the service, but we must charge $1 per pound to cover our costs.
