Recycling Center Tour for Earth Day @ Pleasantview Road Drop-off Center
Apr 20 @ 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm
Recycling Center Tour for Earth Day @ Pleasantview Road Drop-off Center | Harbor Springs | Michigan | United States

Come tour the Emmet County Recycling Center!  You will learn about what happens to the materials you recycle and perhaps discover a couple of new things you can recycle.  This tour is our second this week with the North Central Michigan College’s Environmental Geology Class so will include extra information on where and how natural resources are extracted, processed and manufactured.

RESERVATIONS REQUIRED so we know to expect you!  Call 231-348-0640 or message Recycle@EmmetCounty.org to make your reservation.

For your safety and comfort:

  • Children 6 years old and older are welcome, but must be accompanied and closely supervised by an adult.
  • Please dress to be out doors for an hour.
  • Wear fully closed shoes (no sandals or slip-on style shoes).  Please do not wear high or narrow heels.

Household Chemical Drop-off Event

Clean up!

Green up!

Free up!

It feels great to free up storage space while cleaning and “greening” your home: drop off your unwanted oil-based paints, cleaners, automotive fluids, yard & garden chemicals, and much more.  It also makes your home safer for you and responders, in case of an emergency.

BY APPOINTMENT ONLY: to prevent traffic jams (and long waits in line!) this event is by appointment. Call 231-348-0640 to make an appointment.

Materials from Emmet County households are accepted free of charge; funding comes from Solid Waste Transfer Station revenues (what is paid to dump garbage). Residents of other counties and qualifying businesses may use the service, but we must charge $1 per pound to cover our costs.
