Welcome to EmmetRecycling.org

Do you have something to get rid of? You’ve come to the right place! The Department of Public Works handles solid waste, organics* composting, and household hazardous waste management for Emmet County. We also serve as a regional recycling hub, collecting, processing and marketing recyclables for Emmet County and neighboring communities.  We see waste as a sign of economic inefficiency, but also as a resource and a world of opportunities!  We constantly strive to make our services convenient, comprehensive, cost effective, and environmentally positive.

*In the recycling and municipal solid waste industry, “organics” refers to yard wastes and food scraps, not necessarily plants and animals raised according to organic methods.
