Recycling Carts Back In Action

Since Friday, March 6, Emmet County Recycling (ECR) has not been able to service the rolling recycling carts for residents in Bay Harbor, Bear Creek, Little Traverse, and Resort Townships due to weight restrictions on the roads called Frost Laws. Beginning Tuesday, April 21 at 7:00 AM, the weight restrictions have been lifted and the big trucks are allowed back on all roads. This means that the cart's "spring break" is over and they can be placed at the curb for service again.

Reminders as we return to normal operations:

• Your lid on paper, boxes and bags wheeled cart should be able to close
• Cardboard in your wheeled cart should be no larger than 2'x2'
• If you have excess, it needs to be in a container of similar size to the small, green 18 gallon totes. Or visit one of twelve area drop sites
• If there are high winds, hold your bins - we don't want to litter!
